Eboleth House Pet Program

We understand how important it is to find a place where both you and your pet can feel comfortable, and we’re happy to welcome well-behaved pets at Eboleth House. With open space to explore, quiet surroundings, and easy access to the outdoors, it’s a setting that tends to suit everyone — two-legged and four-legged guests alike.
We also have a simple Pet Program we love sharing with our guests. If you take a few photos of your pet enjoying their time at the house and send them our way to share on our social media, we’ll send a small surprise gift your pet’s way once you’re back home. It’s a fun way for us to see the house through their eyes — and to keep a little connection going even after your stay has come to an end.
Helpful tips and info for your stay
Pet Supplies
At Eboleth House, we try to make traveling with your pet a little easier by providing a few helpful essentials. You’ll find dog bowls for food and water, a supply of treats, and basic grooming tools for detangling fur and removing burrs, along with tick removal tools for time spent outdoors. We know most pets are more comfortable with the bedding and toys brought from home so we do not provide those items, but the rest is here to help you settle in with ease.
The Great Outdoors
Eboleth House is set in a rural area with abundant local wildlife and a variety of insects, which is part of the natural character of the Maine coast. When spending time outdoors, we recommend keeping a close eye on your pets, especially at dawn and dusk when wildlife is more active. It’s best to avoid letting them roam through taller grasses or brush, where ticks are more common. Checking for ticks regularly throughout the day is a simple precaution, as both deer and dog ticks are present in the area and Lyme disease can occur.

Beach Access/Swimming
Just a short walk from the house, the shoreline offers easy access for you and your pet, with a small pebble beach that’s gentler underfoot than the typical rocky coast. The gradual water entry makes it a comfortable spot for wading or a quick swim close to shore. As you enjoy the water, it’s worth keeping an eye out for passing boats, as Eggemoggin Reach is a well-traveled route for boats of all sizes.

Drop-in Pet Care
If you’re planning to be out for a while during your stay, you might consider arranging drop-in pet care for a little extra peace of mind. A local sitter can stop by to let your pet out, provide a quick walk, or simply check in so they’re not alone for too long. It’s a simple option that can make it easier to enjoy your time exploring the area while knowing your pet is comfortable back at the house.
One local pet sitter to consider is Pet Care by Lindsay. They provide drop-in checks on your pet as well as short walks. Be sure to inquire early as their schedule fills up rather quickly.
