Make Your Planning Easier
Whether you like to map out every detail or just gather a few ideas for exploring and dining nearby, the information below is here to make planning simple.

The best time to visit
Maine is beautiful year round and each season has its appealing qualities. Spring and early summer have less tourist traffic, mid to late summer are the warmest months and fall tends to be a bit quieter with somewhat less visitors and magnificent foliage. Each year, Eboleth House is available to guests from mid-May to late October.

How to book
The best option for booking Eboleth House is by visiting our booking management site directly, or calling the management office at 207-367-2550. This method is an easy process and you can talk directly to our booking manager to ask any questions and ensure your reservation is secured for the dates you wish to stay. You are also able to save on the costs of additional fees. However, if you prefer, you may also book through Airbnb or VRBO.

Bringing pets
We understand how important it is to find comfortable accommodations for you and your pet and we welcome well-behaved pets. Eboleth House even has a Pet Program.
If you take photos of your pet during your stay at the house and share them to our social media page, we will
send your pet a special surprise gift once you're back home.

Packing for the weather
No matter when you visit, it's always a good idea to be prepared for changing weather, which is very common in Maine. We recommend planning to dress in layers and bringing a rain jacket. Most afternoons during the summer months and early fall will be warm (70's - 80's) and you'll want to have a jacket on-hand for some cooler evenings.

Beach and Water Activities
The beach is a short walk (approximately 4-5 minutes) across the yard. A newer set of wooden stairs leads down to the beach.

The calm waters of Eggemoggin Reach, which is the body of water that meets the beach, is fantastic for swimming, boating and fishing. The shore is less rocky than some other parts of the coastline, making it simple to launch a kayak, canoe or paddleboard and easy to get in and out of the water if swimming. Since the reach is sheltered from the open ocean, the water here tends to be slightly warmer and calmer. It's a popular waterway for many sailboats and fishing boats.

Even though the water in the reach tends to be calmer, we cannot emphasize enough how important it is to check the weather forecast for Sedgwick, Maine before heading out for swimming or boating as the weather can change very quickly.

Outdoor Activities
If you're looking for outdoor activities, there are many opportunities for hiking, trail walking and exploring nature preserves throughout the towns of the Blue Hill Peninsula. You'll find trails of all types from casual strolling to challenging hikes on Blue Hill Mountain.

The Island Heritage Trust website is a great resource for planning the perfect day out to visit one of the many nearby preserves and hiking trails.

Interested in kayaking? Whether you're a seasoned kayaker or are thinking of trying it for the first time, the Deer Isle and Stonington areas have some of the best views and coves for a couple hours adventure or even a full day out on the water. To book a tour, Osprey's Echo Sea Kayaking, Sea Kayak Stonington, and Nautical by Nature Kayaking offer all types of tours to suit every interest and skill level. For kayak and canoe rentals, check out Stonington Paddle.

Art, Music, Food and Shopping
The Blue Hill Peninsula is home to some of the best restaurants you'll find in Maine. Not only are there plenty of seafood and fish options, but also a variety of restaurants from Thai to Mexican, pizza to barbecue, cafes and family-friendly places as well as more upscale dining and wineries.

Many art and music-loving visitors to the Blue Hill Peninsula area are excited to find so many galleries and music venues throughout the peninsula's towns. There's undoubtedly something that will appeal to everyone.
